Pellittiere & Jonsson PLLC was formed in 2010 by Timothy Pellittiere, a former Partner in the Estate Planning Group at Woods Oviatt Gilman. Mr. Pellittiere left after 11 years to create his own estate planning and elder law boutique law firm. Kristin S. Jonsson joined the firm in 2011 after 4 years at Woods Oviatt Gilman. Ms. Jonsson also practiced in the Estate Planning Group with a concentration in Medicaid and Long Term Care Planning.

With a focus on practical solutions and personal service, Pellittiere & Jonsson helps families address difficult topics. These may include planning for one's own death or disability, caring for an incapacitated parent, addressing worries for children, business succession issues, tax planning or working through the estate administration process. All of these circumstances can be overwhelming at times and families need practical, personal guidance. The matters covered vary from situation to situation and family to family.

Mr. Pellittiere grew up in East Rochester, New York. He attended college at SUNY Geneseo and law school at Albany Law School. He has lived in Fairport for 12 years and participated in many community activities. These include the Kiwanis Club in Webster, the boards for the Penfield Village Nursery School, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, Fairport Little League Baseball, and 13Thirty Cancer Connect. He enjoys all types of sports and spending time with his wife and six sons.

Mr. Pellittiere began his legal career as an associate in the Estate Planning Group of Woods Oviatt Gilman Sturman and Clarke (later Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP) in 1998. By 2007 he was named a partner in the Group. Mr. Pellittiere has handled all estate related matters from basic estate planning, complex tax planning for business owners, elder care and Medicaid Planning and estate administration, including contested probate proceedings and IRS estate tax audits.

Ms. Jonsson was born in Iceland and spent the second half of her childhood in Brewster, New York. She obtained her B.A. from Binghamton University and attended law school at American University, Washington College of Law. After law school, Ms. Jonsson began her career in the Trusts and Estates Group of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP focusing on Medicaid and Long Term Care planning. In January 2011, she joined the Law Office of Timothy Pellittiere, PLLC to create Pellittiere & Jonsson, PLLC to continue to assist families and elders with their estate, Medicaid and long term care planning needs.

Ms. Jonsson is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) as well as the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations. She served as the chair the Elder Law Section of the Monroe County Bar Association in 2013 and 2014.

Ms. Jonsson currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Parkinson's Foundation of Greater Rochester. She also sits on the Board of Directors for 13Thirty and has served as a mentor through Lawyers for Learning, and an adjunct professor for Bryant & Stratton College.

Ms. Jonsson is a frequent speaker at education seminars including those sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, the Monroe County Bar Association, The National Business Institute, the National Parkinson’s Foundation of Greater Rochester, the Alzheimer’s Association, among others. Ms. Jonsson’s articles on new Medicaid planning techniques have also been published in the New York State Bar Association Elder Law Journal.
